1: QB who holds grudges and is kind of a bitter psycho who can't let go.

2: HC with no comprehension of sports psychology whatsoever.

I mean as much as we as Packers fans lack remorse for the whole ordeal, the guy is right.

Z2C, totally agree. No critical analysis in the article regarding:[list]

I agree that OUR expectations are very high, but the thinking that they aren't in New Orleans is just such complete BS. No one in the Saints fanbase thinks it's "quaint" to go out at this stage in the post-season twice. Especially not the way it happened this year. Go to any single Saints forum and you see that they're just as much wanting to win another one with Brees as we want to win another with Rodgers.

Pettine's defense wasn't very good, but we could all see that his coaching and schemes weren't at fault. That has nothing to do with expectations, but everything with a good coach not getting the talent he needs. The same can be said for the Saints down years under Payton.

Also, their problems have consistently been on the defensive side off the ball and heads have rolled there. He's on his fifth DC since 2006.

Another important factor of a lot of the successful offenses as of late (and Payton was always really into this), is the usage of the RB as a receiver, getting the RB one on one match-ups to take advantage of whomever is covering him, to either out move a bigger LB or out power a DB.

In 2018, 108 passes were completed to Saints RB/FBs ... that means over 20% of the attempted passes... and over 28% of the completed passes went to the RBs... as Payton has worked systems to get match-ups.

I think we would all agree that RB Aaron Jones was a match-up nightmare for teams, while he might not be able to run guys over he did a pretty good job of avoiding people.

In comparison, for the Packers only a bit over 11% of attempted passes and 18% of completed passes want to the RBs.

And the Saints pieces aren't the much different than the Packers, though the RBs might be better, but the Packers actually look like they had more depth at WR and TE.

I still think, whom ever decision to release Nelson over Cobb was a poor decision (though they were trying to sign Allen Robinson, so they might of been willing to release both)... but another poor decision was keeping the offense complex and not simplifying it for the rookies, which I expect was a problem with Rodgers and the rookies struggling to get on the same page. But to ask rookies to pre-read defenses (before the snap), and then read the defense (mid-route) and be on the same page as a QB that has over a decade in the system is a bit hard. And I think MVS talked about all being new to the new system, might actually help them all to be on the same page.

"it’s just going to be like learning a new system all over again, if it is that way, and we’ll all be on an equal playing field now. You won’t have vets who’ve been in the system for four, five or 10, 11 years. We’ll all be at the same level learning at the same time."

"I was able to produce with a steep learning curve, probably steeper last time, because guys had been in the system for many years, and I’m coming in having to learn like eight years of a system in three months,", "So now, if we do have to learn a completely different system, it won’t just be for the rookies this time."
